Twenty-two people were injured during a training drill at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, Calif. on Thursday.
NBC News reported that the injuries were caused by the inhalation of noxious fumes released from a fire extinguisher bursting inside an amphibious landing vehicle. No deaths were reported and all the marines are reportedly in stable condition.
The training center is located in California’s Mojave desert and is the Marine’s largest combined-arms facility.
