All the characters from _Rings_ are back, but with Middle Earth saved, they now work at a paper company — with Gandalf as general manager and Gollum as the annoying desk mate. Saturday’s episode also featured musical guest Charli XCX, a bit mocking Charlie Rose and several holiday-themed sketches. ## Transcript This week on Saturday Night Live Bilbo Baggins ditches the ears and extra large feet to take on hosting duties of Saturday Night Live. My name is Martin Freeman. If you don't know me I'm sort of funny George Clooney. While Clooney may be a stretch, Freeman did get a chance to show off his comedic chops in his SNL debut. Before Freeman reached international fame with The Hobbit trilogy. The British actor was nominated for several awards for his role in the original U. K. version of the office. Put my [ UNKNOWN ] inside a jelly again. This is the third time he's done it, it wasn't even funny the first time. So the brilliant minds at SNL decided to put a mid- evil spin on the famous paper company. [ LAUGH ] See [ UNKNOWN ]. No where is it? Where is it? [ LAUGH ] Look. Oh ha ha hilarious. [ LAUGH ] Very funny. Sticking with the UK theme the musical guest for SNL was Charlie XCX performing her single Boom Clap from her new album Sucker due out on Monday.
