But now, to make up for it, here he is riding a [_real_ ](http://time.com/3528690/watch-the-first-real-hoverboard/)hoverboard. Yup, Marty McFly’s [preferred mode of transportation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1ZdMOMUgXE) is now a real thing. Or at least, it’s pretty close. What the skateboarding icon rides in the video is a Hendo board, which [bills itself](http://www.hendohover.com/) as the world’s first hoverboard. Its developers recently launched a [Kickstarter campaign](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/142464853/hendo-hoverboards-worlds-first-real-hoverboard), where you can pre-order one of these high-tech boards for a cool $10,000. If that’s out of your price range, then just enjoy this video of Hawk testing one of them out. He’s not nearly as graceful as he is on a normal skateboard, but that’s understandable. ## Transcript Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville, and I'm about to ride a hover board. And I'm Tony Hawk, and I'm gonna try it myself. This is real, folks. This is the real hover board right here, so forget everything you know. This is it. Funny or die, mostly the die part.
