Matthew McConaughey has been busy this week — mostly promoting his new movie [_Interstellar_](http://time.com/3546528/interstellar-movie-clip/) and also fighting off angry fans who recently learned [he won’t be in the _Magic Mike_](http://time.com/3397804/matthew-mcconaughey-magic-mike/) sequel, probably.

But in his latest appearance on _Live With Kelly and Michael_, the actor had to fight off a different kind of fan: the aggressive, overly affectionate middle-aged woman. He tries to make his way on set to conduct his interview or whatever, but the ladies just POUNCE, showering him with hugs and kisses and squeals and frantic selfie attempts. Then Kelly Ripa yells at them, which is pretty great.
