MTV Is Making a Mexican Jersey Shore

How do you say YOLO in Spanish?*

MTV Latin America has announced an upcoming Mexican version of its reality show Jersey Shore, which ran from 2009 to 2012, Variety reports. The new program, Acapulco Shore, will follow the lives of eight Mexicans in the titular beach town and will premiere this September. The show will air on MTV Latin America as well as MTV’s bilingual U.S. network, Tr3s.

“Drama, friendship and partying — the hallmarks of the MTV franchise are all encapsulated in Acapulco Shore,” MTV Latin America’s brand manager, Maria Iregui, said.

That’s not the only MTV property getting a Spanish makeover — Catfish Colombia is also in the works and set for a September premiere on the same network.

*The answer is apparently SOCKS, which, when spelled out loud, sounds like “eso si que es” — it is what it is, basically.
