As AppleInsider points out, Apple is currently selling “Certified Pre-Owned” [iPhone 5](http://techland.time.com/2012/09/18/apple-iphone-5-review-its-all-about-refinement/ "undefined") models on eBay. The 16 GB version, in either [white](http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-iPhone-5-Certified-Pre-Owned-Factory-Unlocked-GSM-Smartphone-WHITE-16GB-/271525065039?pt=Cell%5FPhones&hash=item3f3827b14f "undefined") or [black](http://www.ebay.com/itm/271525780643 "undefined"), is selling for $449, which is $200 off the original price. That’s also $100 cheaper than the current [iPhone 5c](http://techland.time.com/2013/09/18/review-apples-iphone-5s-iphone-5c-and-ios-7/ "undefined"), which has nearly identical tech specs. Although the full price for an unlocked phone is more expensive than what you’d get with a two-year contract, you could take the phone to AT&T or T-Mobile and get cheaper monthly service.
