We’ve long known that Saul Goodman, the slippery, seedy lawyer who lent Breaking Bad comic relief, was getting a spinoff series of his own, set to begin November 2014. But in a press release today, AMC announced that the premiere would pushed back to early 2015.
But the network sweetened the bad news by announcing the show had already been renewed for a second season.
Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as Saul Goodman in the 10-episode first season, with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan directing the series premiere, according to Hitfix. A second season of 13 episodes is scheduled for early 2016.
“Production on Better Call Saul is underway and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date. We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series and today we happily confirm that our initial Saul order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes,” AMC president Charlie Collier said in a statement.
